Flydubai has just introduced a radically new noise cancelling headphone in the business class cabin, with the goal of dramatically reducing the carbon footprint of this specific piece of equipment.

 

The new concept allows to separate the headphones into four main modules: Headband with ear cups, Electronic modules, Cables and  Earpads. 

 

The disassembly and assembly process is very simple, and can be achieved in a minute without requiring tools. Cabin crew and maintenance teams can easily execute the process with only a few minutes of training. 

Years of experience have concluded that most of the headphone defects on airplanes are due to broken plastic components or defective cables, usually concluding in the whole device being discarded.

 

This new modular design allows airlines to replace the defective parts of each headset and reuse the remaining parts of the headphones to regenerate new equipment. 

 

Airlines can reduce carbon emission and long-run budget 50% or more with this new design.
